Event Name:Business Forum
Event Summary:BREAKFAST EVENT
We start our 2009-10 season by welcoming two presenting companies which, in very different market and operational environments, have set ambitious growth objectives and will discuss the challenges of meeting them.
Event Description:
James Fleming Plastics – Elaine
James Fleming Plastics is a family run company who employs thirteen members of staff. It was founded in 1979 by Jim Fleming who has over 30 years experience in the plastics technology industry. The company has developed a reputation for high quality work and in-house engineering expertise.
An innovative approach, based on sound knowledge of the materials and their performance, has led to the company’s present strong position serving commerce and industry throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.
A comprehensive service is offered to companies seeking help in the design and development of their products for particular applications.
Much time and effort are devoted to discussing individual clients’ needs, and to developing products to solve problems. Advice will be given on the choice of manufacturing techniques and on possible materials.
When the product concept has been developed, prototypes can be produced for testing prior to the final production stage.
James Fleming Plastics also produces engineering models to facilitate prototype design work and to help in visualising finished products.
Elaine joined the company in 2006 and for the past couple of years she has been responsible in installing an updated the office systems, they were previously running on manual accounts for all invoicing and purchasing.
Elaine’s role in the company is now sales and marketing, an area that is new to her but is now required as the industry has become highly competitive and seeing more work going to China and Japan. Her aim is to gain some knowledge and hopefully contacts that will be useful in taking the company forward.
