Biological quality elements are useful indicators of water quality and EnPrint offers a range of services including micro-organism analyses that allow accurate assessment of ecological status to ensure compliance with legislation.   Issues EnPrint wish to explore include: how to establish credibility & market traction with unproven technology, internal inertia within market, and the public sector market investment vs debt funding vs research income - which is most appropriate how to engage and implement the right management team; and finally; how does being a spin-out effect the venture.         OptoSwim Technologies Limited.   Optoswim Technologies Limited OTL have developed technology that delivers the benefits of exercise to farmed fish. Scotland is the third largest farmed salmon producer in the world and the benefits of exercise meet several needs of the industry, including faster more efficient production improved health and welfare of the stock and a better quality product delivered to the consumer.   Issues Optoswim wish to explore include:   the company has an unusual problem among start ups, in that it has gained the support of the investment community, as well as generating interest and sales in the market place, and collecting promising initial results from a commercial trial last year, but it is having trouble generating robust test data in the commercial environment, due to a combination of costs involved, the interaction of biology with seasons, and the difficulty of collecting data consistently through the various operations involved in a salmon production environment. whether to establish a product sales model or to establish a service based proposition and how best to explore the manufacturing options and develop trusting relationships.           Our Co-Sponsor of this event is;  The University of Glasgow Innovation Network programme works closely with companies to increase their competitiveness through collaboration including feasibility studies and new technology licensing. the University's First Step Awards offer financial support of up to £5k per project to help create long-term collaborations between SMEs and the University's academics and researchers.
